We make Gogoma treats in our own private commercial facility in Los Angeles, California. Everything is made by us in small batches. We don’t use a co-packer, and we only use our facility for Gogoma production – nothing else.

• Since we don't use any preservatives or flavorings, your pet will enjoy the most flavor within a month after opening a bag. Gogoma is like any fresh-baked product you'd eat yourself - the more yum the sooner you consume after opening.
• Store the treats in an airtight container (like the Gogoma Treat Jar) or make sure to keep the bag sealed. 
• Shelf-life of unopened bags is up to one year if stored in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. 

Yes, we source our ingredients from southern California farmers’ markets and family-run organic food distributors and manufacturers. All Gogoma treats are free of wheat, corn, soy, and preservatives. We never use flavorings – artificial or natural – in our products.

We are committed to running a planet-friendly small business. This means we make every effort to reduce our consumption and creation of plastic and other material that ends up in landfills.

Some of the things we do at Gogoma to help reduce our environmental footprint: 

• Source a majority of our ingredients and use suppliers within California
• Focus on a variety of nutritious plant-based ingredients in our treats
• Only use wild-caught animal proteins and invasive species like wild boar. We don’t use factory-farmed meats in our products
• Ship in biodegradable, compostable and recyclable materials. We leave out decorative tissue paper and packing slips in our shipments. Sometimes we upcycle cardboard boxes we have on hand

We first started selling Gogoma in hand-stamped and labeled kraft compostable pouches. When it came time to scale up to custom packaging, we couldn’t find a U.S.-based supplier that prints compostable pouches domestically with MOQs that are within our means as a very small business.

We decided on the second-best option by partnering with a Los Angeles-based supplier that prints our packaging on post-consumer recycled material just 30 miles away from Gogoma’s HQ. While these recycled pouches cannot be recycled again, they help give used plastic another life. 

One of our sustainability goals is to eventually find a U.S.-based compostable packaging solution without sacrificing shelf-life and quality of the Gogoma goodies packed inside.
